We wanted to do something special for Amelia's 1st birthday, so Matthew and I both took the day off from work and along with grandma and grandpa Rawe, took Amelia to the Roloff Pumpkin Farm. We watch a TV program called Little People Big World, it is all about the Roloff family and their lives. Roloff Farm is their property and we were excited to visit it. Luckily, since it was Friday, it wasn't too crowded.

When we arrived, Amy (the mom of the show) was greeting everybody and posing for photo's she was very nice and even said that a good abbreviation for Amelia would be Amy!

It was a beautiful day and we decided to enjoy a guided tractor tour ride around the property. I love the photo below of Amelia with grandpa during the tour.

We stopped off at "cowboy town" and met the grandparents of the show and of course just had to pose for photographs with them too.

Amelia kept an eye on the driver of the tractor whilst grandma held her tight.

After our tour it was time to pick out some pumpkins, I was so excited since it was my first time at a real pumpkin farm too. I have waited a long time to be able to take photographs of my own cute little pumpkin in amongst the pumpkins.

Daddy and Grandpa took turns pulling the cart whilst Amelia took care of it's contents.

It was hard to get a photo of Amelia looking up since she was more amused with the straw and, of course, wanted to see how it tasted.

There were all kinds of pumpkins to choose from, all different shapes and sizes, we chose four altogether. Luckily, daddy is really strong because they were heavy.

After our fun day out, we went home for birthday cake and presents.

I made a giant cupcake for Amelia's first birthday cake.

She was intrigued by the candle but of course didn't quite understand what she was supposed to do with it.

Instead of the big cake, I gave her a cupcake to enjoy.

She loved it (and didn't sleep for a long time afterwards)

After all that cake, a drink of milk was just delicious.
Amelia received many wonderful gifts and we all had a fabulous day out, maybe we'll go back to the pumpkin farm next year too and start a new tradition!
