Last December we were "blessed" with snow. Of course, it wasn't exactly fun to drive in, but we did make it to work every day, and it looked absolutely spectacular.
Amelia found the change in her surroundings quite strange, since this was the first year she was old enough to notice. We bundled her up in her new winter coat and hat and out we went. She took off walking as soon as we put her down, but then...

...she face planted right into the cold snow, as you might imagine, she didn't like it at all and I think was shocked by how cold it was. We picked her up and cuddled her tight to warm her up again.
I finally had the opportunity to wear one of my favourite hats, and I couldn't wait to put it on.
Matthew and I both posed for a photo with our little snow angel.
I love the photo below, it was taken around 4:30pm from our back garden. The dusk sky looked amazing, against our snow dusted community.
Even the pumpkins couldn't hide from the snow.

I was intrigued by the way the ice formed on the tree branches. Unfortunately, a lot of trees fell with the weight of the snow and ice, our birch tree split in the middle and fell and we almost lost a maple, but luckily, we were able to save that one. Many people were without power for some time.
The snow plough came through our street, but Matthew still had to shovel the driveway to keep it clear. Our neighbour had very kindly cleared it for us earlier in the week, we are so lucky to live in a wonderful neighbourhood with lovely people.
It was so nice having a white Christmas, next time, maybe we'll even build a snowman!
