We Love To See The Temple

We drive by our church's Stake Building every morning on the way to daycare and work, Amelia calls it the Temple, and loves to point it out as we drive by. So, last Saturday we headed towards Portland, and decided to take Amelia to the actual Temple. It was a beautiful, sunny and warm day. Amelia was so excited to be there and enjoyed walking around the grounds, looking at the flowers, fountain and reflection pool.

Amelia made friends, who loved to try and tickle her.

Just look at how beautiful and blue the sky was.

The Temple is a good place to contemplate life.

I love to see daffodils, the first sign of Spring.

I was amazed that Amelia knew exactly who the statue on top of the Temple was, "Moroni" she told us.


I love the photo below, although it's a little bit blurry. Amelia always walks with her hands on her hips. A two year old with attitude - imagine that!


She loves to walk up and down steps, and since she really didn't want to leave, she circled these steps numerous times.

After spending time at the Temple, we went to Deseret Books and bought a children's Book of Mormon and flash cards of the Temple, which she loves to look at before bed.

What a perfect day out for our family!

A Sunday Stroll

It was lovely weather on Sunday and since we now attend church during the morning, we have plenty of time in the afternoon, after the hubby and baby naps of course, to go out and enjoy the sunshine. We ended up driving to a covered bridge called Ritner Creek Bridge, it was quite lovely and rather romantic, well it was Valentine's day after all.

I think I've mentioned before that Amelia is my outdoors girl and she had fun running around and loved watching the water running under the bridge.

She is getting so big, I can hardly believe it.

Here I am trying to get Amelia to join me for a photograph, she had other ideas. With every step I took towards her, she giggled and took two steps away from me...it was pretty funny.

I saved the best 'til last, here's my mischievous little honey-bee, at this point she did not want to get in the car to go home, so she ran, circling around nearby trees and logs.

Love Is...

...My family!

Yesterday, our family was out taking care of the usual Saturday errands. While we were out, Matthew popped into Costco, while I stayed in the car with our little girl, who had finally conked out hours after her nap time. When he returned, he carried two bouquets of flowers, a dozen red roses for me, and a sweet bouquet of white, pink and red mini carnations for Amelia, her first bouquet.

I am blessed to be married to a man who is so thoughtful and who is excited to buy flowers for his girls. I am glad that Amelia has a father, who loves her as much as Matthew. He is already creating many memories for her to keep in her heart.

The Face of an Angel

Honestly, I didn't think "the two's" could be that terrible...how naive of me! But then, just when I think that I won't possibly be able to make it through one more tantrum or melt-down, she flashes me this smile, and all I can think about is how much I love this Jurassic-Park-screaming, martial-art-kicking, bottom-lip-pouting, but oh so wonderful and adorable girl, who is mine!
