Introducing My Family and Friends
This year, she, along with my Auntie Carol and Uncle David, arranged a little afternoon gathering at the Esporta Fitness Club in Cookridge. It was a wonderful venue, our room had a conservatory attached to it, and since the weather was perfect too you could sit inside or out.
Mum, Auntie Carol and David provided a fantastic buffet (thank you so much) and there was a bar in the room where people could buy drinks. Of course, the most exciting part was seeing familiar faces of those who had gathered together to see us. It was wonderful, the only difficult part was spending enough time with each and every person who came. I was especially grateful that my dad was able to come.
So, who is who? Let me introduce everybody to you...
It was a long day and as curious as Amelia is, she hadn't really taken a nap, so I was happy to see that she finally "conked out". Vicky gave her a little cuddle as she slept.
There's a little story that goes with this last photo. Of course I am a first time mum, and quite cautious about certain things, one of which is feeding Amelia, I always feared that she would choke on "normal food" and gave her, what my family called "bird-size pieces". Whilst in England, I got a lot of stick about it and to make matters worse, Amelia was really kicking up a fuss whenever I tried to feed her the usual baby food, so, finally on this evening, after a few words of encouragement from Sarah, I decided to give Amelia a whole quarter of a crustless, ham sandwich. Of course she loved it (as you can see below), it seems that all she wanted at mealtimes was to be independent. I'm happy to report that I am much more relaxed now and Amelia is feeding herself really well and eating "normal foods". Looks like everybody was right!

A Day out to Bingley 5-Rise Locks
We posed for a family photo on the tiny foot-bridge,but Amelia was more interested in looking down into the lock at the water below than at the camera.

"Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside!"
When I was a child, our family's summer holiday was usually spent at the Primrose Valley Caravan Park, at the seaside. I have many fond memories of fun times spent with my family. I remember that this was the only time that my mum bought the individual mini-packs of sugary cereal, quite the treat in our home. Also, a mug was set out for each of us which contained our pocket money for the week, my mum would divide it up and tell us how much we had to spend each day. These were good times. So, every time I go home, I like to go to the seaside, this year, we decided to go to Bridlington.
As you can see above, one of the walls featured bricks with fish molded into them, it perked Amelia's curiosity.
Amelia experienced her first carousel ride, it was just a small one, but lots of fun - daddy even got to ride free!
Below, is a photo of the "Bridlington Eye" kind of like the "London Eye", we decided it would be a fun way to get a bird's eye view of the coastline.
...and mum (who is afraid of heights) and David sat on the other.
Amelia loved hanging over the edge and looking out.
Next, David, Matthew and I went on a speedboat ride, if you look closely you can see the boat behind us, we sat in the front seat, it was so much fun.
Amelia was fascinated by the seagulls and got quite close to this one.
After walking down the pier, we headed for the beach.
I was trying not to get my feet wet whilst taking the photo below, since the waves kept running up to where I was standing, but I just love the result, it's one of my favourite photo's.
Daddy gave Amelia a piggy-back ride which she enjoyed very much.
Ever since Matthew proposed to me on the beach at Santa Cruz, California, we always write something in the sand, this day was no different.
