Where's Your Mat?

This photo was taken earlier last month whilst Matthew, Amelia and I were out on a Saturday afternoon having lunch at Red Robin. I noticed that the drink coaster was missing by Amelia's place setting, so I asked her "Amelia, where is your mat?" After taking a moment to think about my question, my bright little girl's eyes lit up and she pointed at her daddy. It was so funny, even though I don't call him Matt, everybody else does and she must have heard them.

I hope I never forget these cute little conversations that we have.

Spring is in the Air

Am I lucky or what? The photo above is what I saw last week as I stepped outside of the stairwell from the underground parking structure and headed towards my office. Although there was a little frost on the ground, there is no doubt that spring is in the air when you see the beautiful trees, bursting with blossoms.

My friend Traci and I have a special tradition. Every Spring, we get my daughter and her dogs together for a Spring photo shoot in the Capitol Mall area. Since the blossoms are perfect for only a week or so, we prayed that the weather would stay nice for us, and that the rain wouldn't come and knock off all of the blossoms.

Of course, we took billions of photo's, ok, perhaps only hundreds, but we had a great time. It was a beautiful sunny day and I picked Amelia up from daycare around 10 o'clock and we spent an hour or so in the capitol mall. Of course the puppies were the most well behaved, same story as last year, but Amelia had a blast and was very excited to be with her canine friends.

This is Echo, such a sweet dog, perfect size for Amelia too, it was funny to hear her say "pom (come) on Echo", and watch her carefully hold the leash.

Kant didn't want to miss out and joined Amelia and Echo.

And of course, we couldn't leave Pita out.

Talk about a connection...I wonder what they are both thinking.

As usual, hands on hips.

Chilling out by the Sprague Fountain,

I honestly believe that this is possibly the most beautiful dog in the world, not to mention a champion. What a lovely photo of Kant.

We had lots of time to run.

Here they are together, with the State Capitol Building in the background.

Amelia seemed very curious about the dogs tail.

I love these next couple of photo's, especially since they seem to capture the joy in Amelia's face.

Action shots...

Giving the pup a branch to hold

Life is good!

Jordana and Amelia take the dogs back to the car, time to go home.

I loved spending a couple of hours of my work day with my little girl and seeing how excited she was to be under the "popcorn" trees, with the dogs.

Spring is the best!

A New Dress For Our Girl

Amelia received a package a couple of weeks ago. Inside was a beautiful dress, sent to her by Grandma and Grandpa Rawe. She was very excited as she put it on for church on Sunday, along with a pair of new-to-her shoes that had been handed down from her cousin Brooke.

As you can see, it was the perfect size and looked just stunning.

Thank you so much Grandma and Grandpa,
We miss and love you lots!

Picking Up Pebbles By The Ocean

Last weekend, we enjoyed a beautiful, sunny, spring day at the Coast. After visiting the outlets, we headed for the beach. Although we didn't let Amelia go in the water this time, she had a blast picking up the biggest pebbles she could carry and throwing them into the ocean.

As usual, we had so much fun, that we had to carry our sweet girl off of the sand kicking and screaming. We are getting pretty good at holding her horizontally under our arms.

It was a wonderful day!

Friday Night Fun At The Pool

A few weeks ago my friend Alice was taking care of Amelia whilst Matthew and I went to the pictures. Alice took Amelia to the local swimming pool and whilst her son, Ryan, had swimming lessons, she and Amelia splashed around in the toddler pool. Amelia had such a wonderful time that we have been back every Friday night for the past two weeks. It's great, I leave work a half hour earlier and pick her up, and head for the pool. We play for about an hour or so. The pool has toys and rings to play with and Amelia loves swimming around on her tummy. It's also very cheap, at $1.50 a time, it's a tradition I could get used to. I'm thinking it's time to start swimming lessons again, this water baby would really enjoy it!

I bought this cute little swimming costume for her last week, and although it is covered in cherries, Amelia calls them apples.

She loves the rings.

" Look at me mum, I'm swimming on my tummy!"

"I can do the backstroke too!"

Extreme close up as she concentrates on pouring water into a cup.

What a happy girl.

A great way to start the weekend!
